Why I started this Blog

...oh so she decided to start a blog did she?... wow what a surprise!

Truth be told, Ive been thinking about starting a blog for a while now. It's literally been on my to do list for over a year and I've been telling myself to keep planning, that I'm going to do such in such by this date, and it's just never happened....until now that is.

No, I haven't done all the things I said I would, or planned all the things I wanted to, I just thought it was time to just throw myself in the deep end,..... so here I am.... and so here are you incidentally.

My initial motives for starting my blog came from, of course, you knew it: instagram.

I started my art account several years ago. I'd seen other instagram artists and was so inspired that I desperately wanted to start sharing my own work, connect with other artists, become inspired and join the community.

After a while I realised that I couldn't share everything that I wanted to share. I was being asked for tips and how I did things, where my inspiration came from etc, and I just wasn't able to post all the videos, step by step pictures, and explain everything through instagram at the time. (Of course it has improved in recent years)

That being said, I wanted a place to share everything that I was doing and all my projects, inspirations and tips so that I could try and help anyone who wants it.

It always makes me happy to help and teach others. I love giving my sister art lessons and helping her learn new techniques and seeing her become inspired and energetic about things, and I'd love to do the same for other people.

Another part of it, strange as it seems, is that I find it motivating me to keep drawing, to keep creating. I love drawing and creating, but sometimes I do have art blocks and need a little push to get going:

If I'm lacking inspiration, maybe I'll write a post about finding inspiration, and then ta da... I will find my own.

I always wanted to be an artist "when I grow up", but I did also consider journalism. I find writing so much fun and was always writing diaries, journals and little books,....and so here I am, trying to write a blog and testing my writing skills.

Most importantly, I know I will keep learning and improving as I work on my blog but I will be HAVING FUN!  So I hope you enjoy joining me on my journey.

Love kat xx
